Posting Your Pet on Pet Orphans' Website

If, after much soul-searching (see How to Find a New Home for Your Pet), you feel you must give up your pet, and would like to post your pet for adoption on the Pet Orphans website, you must read and agree to the following conditions. Please fill in the information and click on the Submit button at the bottom of the page. Posting a pet on the Pet Orphans website is provided as a service to the Atlanta area community, but does require a minimum non-refundable contribution of $35 to SPOT - Stopping Pet Overpopulation Together. This contribution will allow your pet's picture and description to be posted on the Pet Orphans website for up to 3 months. The money contributed will go directly into a fund used to spay/neuter pets owned by low-income people who cannot afford to pay for the surgery. You will also be required to send us a description and digital photo of your pet via email.

Pet Orphans cannot guarantee that your pet will be adopted by placing it on our website, but thousands of Atlanta area potential adopters visit our website every week. Once your pet is listed on the Pet Orphans website, potential adopters will fill out an online application if they are interested in your pet. Pet Orphans will then send you the application via email if it meets our screening guidelines.

Step 1

Your Name:
Address:
City, State and Zip:
E-mail (***required field, please type carefully as all responses will initially be via email):

Name and type (dog/cat/breed) of pet to be posted:
Reason(s) for posting this pet:

1. I am aware that all pets posted on the Pet Orphans website must be already spayed or neutered, have had all of their shots, be heartworm-tested negative (dogs), combo-tested negative (cats) and have had a fecal exam/deworming if necessary. (If you need referral to a low cost spay/neuter clinic, please look at our list of low cost spay/neuter clinics.) I vouch that my pet has had all of this vet work done.

Please provide us your vet's name and phone number so that we can verify this.
Veterinary Hospital Name:
Veterinarian's Phone:

2. I agree that I must require an adoption fee of at least $75 for dogs and $50 for cats to potential adopters in order to place my pet for adoption on the Pet Orphans website. I may keep this adoption fee to cover my veterinary costs or I may donate the fee to SPOT. The fee is charged so that people who are looking for a free pet to mistreat or people who cannot afford to take proper care of a pet will not attempt to adopt your pet.

3. I agree to not post any dog or cat on the Pet Orphans website that has an aggressive temperament. I will truthfully state the pet's age, temperament, behavior problems and medical conditions in my description sent to Pet Orphans and to all potential adopters.

4. I agree that I will check my email frequently and will respond to all applications sent to me within 48 hours.

5. I agree that if an adoption doesn't work out that I will take the pet back into my home.

6. I agree that I will email Pet Orphans at info@petorphans.com to let them know if my pet is adopted so that it can be removed from the website.

By signing below, I am attesting to the truthfulness of my answers. Falsification of any of the above information will be grounds for removal of the pet from the website. There will be no refund of the monetary contribution.
Typing your name below will serve as legal signature.
